The eal-bilingual discussion group is for teachers of English as an additional language, specialist classroom assistants, and others involved in teaching and supporting pupils from ethnic and linguistic minority backgrounds. It is also for institutions of higher and further education, LEAs and other agencies providing initial and further professional development in the field of EAL and bilingualism. The list aims to provide a forum for discussion, and to promote the development of ideas and practice. It has been set up by NALDIC, LDMS and Becta. It is an open list - anyone can join. eal-bilingual is an open discussion group. This means that anyone with an interest in this area is welcome to participate in the discussions. All discussions will be publicly available and when you post a message, your email address will be visible to registered users. All messages sent to eal-bilingual are stored in a publicly available archive. Archives are provided as an additional resource to users and enables non members to browse the messages. Subscribe to eal-bilingual by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This is a hidden list, which means that the list of members is available only to the list administrator. eal-bilingual is reactively moderated [ What is moderation? ]. An acceptable use policy has been established by Becta which members are expected to follow. The details you provide on the registration form will be used only to supply you with the services youve selected. These details will be collected via email and stored electronically in a database in accordance with the current data protection legislation and as set out in Becta's privacy and data protection statement. |
