Article: [eal-bilingual] GCSEs and new to schooling and new to EAL

>Hi,
I'm an AST specialist in EAL. I work with several pupils who are in a similar position to your KS4 student. My students have withdrawal lessons as one of their options and are studying for JET SET (offered by EDI - previously AQA). They also attend my English set (Lowest group) where we study firstly for the Entry Level certificate in English. In the second year we complete the GCSE English language (omitting Literature). Over the past few years they have achieved upto Grade D having been in the school less than 2 years (if the student is keen and enthusiatic).
