Keynote Speakers

 

Professor Viv Edwards, University of Reading

Viv Edwards will argue that knowledge of other languages is not a matter of
rationing or prioritization: multilingualism is an asset and resource, not a
problem to be solved.

 

Professor Li Wei - Birkbeck, University of London

Li Wei will critically examine the tensions between community, national and
global needs with reference to dominant politico-economic agenda and the
promotion of certain languages over others.
