Description:
This course aims to provide an overview of good practice in teaching  
children from refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds, as well as  
practical strategies for practitioners.

The following areas will be covered:
• The diverse experiences of refugee children and young people
• Background to asylum issues in the UK
• Understanding children’s emotional and social needs
• The role of the school as a protective factor
• Welcoming new arrivals
• Teaching and learning about refugees
