Subject: [eal-bilingual] Re: New Arrivals Forum

When I was on secondment to the DCSF I set up the New Arrivals (NAEP)
forum. Any practitioner is able to enrol on it simply by sending a
request to Linda who will put you on it. By the end of July which is
the last time I added people there were already over 40 people
registered. I frequently look at it to see if anyone has posted
anything yet and I have also posted some messages on it which to date no
one has responded to. I think the reason for its lack of use (and
therefore the request from Linda to use it) is exactly what Stuart says
that there are other similar websites like this one
which are providing the same service. For those who are not aware, on
the
ESCA website there are also forums for Gypsy Traveller issues, Primary
BCA, Secondary BPAP, Primary EAL and Secondary EAL and MEAP and if you
check it out they also have had a very limited number of hits since they
went live in February.

Like Nicola, I don't think it is a problem, the more places we can share
ideas and look for inspiration the better.
