Article: [eal-bilingual] Reading material for secondary EAL pupils

In Islington we have produced a pack of Fast Readers for beginners in English in secondary schools. We also do a half a day's training on Fast Track Literacy. Please see our website for details.

Does anyone know of some good reading material for EAL newcomers of secondary age? I am supporting a Dari speaker who isn't literate in his first language and am looking for books which have a simple text but which are age appropriate.
