[eal-bilingual] Teaching literacy skills through sharing stories

I think Janet Storey's ideas on story telling are excellent, and would add 
one from Patricia Maynard, a storyteller from California. Patricia makes a 
backboard for the story and laminates it. She then makes figures of the 
characters, also laminated, and gives them to the children, who place them, 
with the aid of bluetack, onto the backboard as they tell the story. Three 
Billy Goats Gruff was the example she used when I heard her. John Bald,
