I agree. It really is worth a good look. It promises a course of real depth, that attends not so much to what compels refugees to flee or where they are from, but turns the focus on 'us', to the complex issues that shape our country's attitudes and reception of refugees...why the debate is so charged and what indeed is at stake. The section on how the law of refugee status discriminates against women is an example of this, as is the effects of the asylum process on refugees' mental health. Some very useful information in the pages on display too, eg. the immigration/asylum legislation developments since 1905.....and a very poignant and (retrospectively) shocking picture of the deportation of Czech Jews from Croydon airport in 1939......
