Sorry - the layout of the cards for my activity did not travel - i'll try
again:
Hi Linda
the only activity on my CD (Racing to English) that addresses this issue is
in the numeracy section - it is called "time problems" - it consists of 24
cards like this:
_________________________
If it's half past 7 now,
what time will it be in 4 hours?
----------------
half past 11
(or 11:30)
(1 point)
__________________________
__________________________
If it's 10 past 4 now,
what time will it be in 20 minutes?
----------------
half past 4
(or 4:30)
(3 points)
__________________________
Players take it in turn to take a card and ask the next pupil the question
on the card - if they get it right they get the points shown on the card -
first to 25 is the winner.
This is a simple idea that can easily be used to address other types of
problem - if you let me have a few problems I'll develop some materials to
practise them
cheers
Gordon
