You will be saddened to hear that Joan Goody died on Friday.Those of us 
who have worked, since the days of NAME and ILEA in multicultural 
education,  particularly in the London area and in the London and 
National Associations for the Teaching of English, will have 
encountered Joan, and have enormous respect for the the work she has 
always done to raise the profile of ethnic minority achievement.
