Dear All, This week's notice includes: 1. EAL - Ideas for a television programme Full details below. If you have any announcements, information about courses, details of conferences, job vacancies that you would like included in future notices please email details to: eal-bilingual-owner at lists.becta.org.uk Regards, Vicky Becta ___________________________________ 1. EAL - Ideas for a television programme - www.libratelevision.com Libra specialise in education and children’s programmes and have been asked by Teachers TV to make 2 programmes looking at EAL, next term. The only guidance they have had from Teachers TV is that they don’t want us to cover anything they have already done in previous programmes, which actually seems to be a quite lot. Below are the topics they have already covered. Assessing speaking ability Assessing writing ability Classroom techniques for EAL Whole school environment for EAL Induction ideas for EAL EAL and MFL EAL for nursery and reception support staff Stage 2 SATS and EAL Gifted & Talented and EAL Maths and EAL Language Development, Science and EAL Slow progress at KS2 and EAL Puppets and pupil translators EAL and parents And 8 other programmes focusing on individual case studies (personal stories) Looking at the list above, is there anything anyone is doing that doesn’t involve these areas? Anyone who is doing something different and would be interested in making a programme about it can send an email to leekitchen at libratelevision.com . I look forward to hearing from you. Lee (Lee is a researcher working for a television production company called Libra Television www.libratelevision.com) |
