The new Raising the attainment of Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Somali and Turkish heritage pupils: Guidance for developing inclusive practice would seem to be the final version of the MEAP project, and it has a DVD. The DCSF reference is 00043-2008BKT-EN and it is available through DCSF prolog It features 'partnership through coaching' and would seem to be what everyone has been looking for through this forum Paul Butcher Senior Ethnic Minority Achievement Consultant Learning and Skills Children's Services 165a Cromwell Road Peterborough PE1 2EL -----Original Message----- From: eal-bilingual-bounces at lists.becta.org.uk [mailto:eal-bilingual-bounces at lists.becta.org.uk] On Behalf Of CATHARINE DRIVER Sent: Tuesday, May 13, 2008 9:35 PM To: For practitioners involved in teaching pupils from ethnic and linguisticminorities Subject: Re: [eal-bilingual] Secondary Strategy MEAP This Folder and DVD was given out to schools involved in the MEAP project [in about 12 LAs working with Somali, Pakistani, Bangladeshi and Turkish students] I did have a copy, but cannot locate it at the moment. From what I remember there were some good ideas and templates for planning etc, but there is nothing better than the original partnership teaching pack [circa 1989] which is still worth a look if you can track it down. I guard my copy carefully and still use bits of it with NQTs and BTs including the famous 'Life Cycle of a Salmon' lesson. which transformed practice for so many of us in London in the late 80s/early 90s [thanks to Steve Cooke!] Catharine Andy Alsop <Andy.Alsop at wolverhampton.gov.uk> wrote: Hi All Does anyone know here I can locate a copy of the DVD which accompanies "Minority ethnic achievement: partnership teaching through coaching"? This came out in 2005 and is now reported out of print on Teachernet.
