Article: [oats-sig] Ubuntu Accessibility Options

Hi All,

Sorry, just caught up with this thread and can only cursorarily respond to
it in-between my current conference season! (-; It's excellent to have more
linux gurus involved in the project- I think that is something we could be
really strong on. (-:

Just to say that i'd really like to start encouraging people to write
articles on topics like this... There's a spot for them here:
http://www.oatsoft.org/Info/articles/ if anyone is feeling brave.

I've also made a couple of good potential contacts from ICCHP, i'll forward
one of the mails soon from someone more into the VI community.

Enjoy the weather all.

Cheers

Simon

I don't think I can add a great deal at the moment to this thread.
Henrik seems to have everything covered. The Accessibility documentation
in the Ubuntu wiki is fairly explicit. The new facility to boot the live
CD with accessibility options seems to work OK, although the screen
magnifier doesn't appear to work correctly on any of my three machines
(one CRT screen, one LCD screen and one laptop). Instead of splitting
the screen in half down the middle, a small magnified area appears in
top centre and many of the screen icons disappear. Also the gnopernicus
command centre is hidden behind the magnified area and can't be
accessed. I tried the Virtual Magnifier that is listed on the Oats site
and this has potential. I have left a note on the relevant page for this.

Nick
