Dear All, See below for this promising contact. Any comments welcome - I think Neil might now be on this list. I've cited the paper here: http://www.citeulike.org/user/simonjudge/article/773262 . Sorry I can't be clearer at the moment, i'm not really here! I'll get onto more OATS stuff in the next few months. Cheers Simon Clinical Scientist ACT 0121 627 1627 ex 53245 -----Original Message----- From: nmckenzie [mailto:nmckenzie at dedicon.nl] Sent: 24 July 2006 14:22 To: simon.judge at southbirminghampct.nhs.uk Subject: ICCHP Follow up Hi, It was good to meet you at ICCHP last week. I have just returned from my busy period of Austrian conferences and will be taking a well deserved break for most of August. Following this, we would be very interested in getting involved in the Oatsoft.org initiative. We have made opensource several small projects that we have at FNB. These are in various stages of completion: http://math2braille.sourceforge.net http://accessmusic.sourceforge.net http://openaip.sourceforge.net The problem I have is that the projects lie dormant once I am finished with them, I would like to push them out to the world a little more through initiatives such as Oatsoft. Through the EUAIN project, we would like to promote more open source solutions. Please see the attached paper I presented at last year's Open Source Systems conference. Our demonstrator is based around ODF, and we will make it open source in the very near future: http://demonstrator.euain.org I have attempted to include open source initiatives in most projects and project proposals I have put together, and we continue to promote open standards throughout our work. In our Training and Resource Centre under EUAIN, there is a section where we would like to promote open source resources for Accessible information processing: http://wiki.euain.org/doku.php?id=wiki:software#open_source_tools This is largely incomplete, and hopefully I can manage to update it a little more when I get some time. Almost all work we produce is released under creative commons: http://wiki.euain.org/doku.php#license So please feel free to reuse it in any of your non-commercial work. I have signed up to your mailing list and will encourage anyone I know with similar interests to do the same. Please let me know if there is anything I can provide which can contribute to the success of Oastsoft.org.
