Hi everyone, Thank you for answering all my questions in the past weeks. They have all contributed to an event we've been busily organizing - SS12: Code for a Cause. The Code-A-Thon has begun and is going extremely well. You may browse all of our pictures at: http://picasaweb.google.com/ss12cfc And we should have some website updates later tonight (Pacific Standard Time) at: http://ss12.info We selected six projects for our Code-A-Thon: 1) Mobile Currency Reader (cell phone application that returns the value of a bill) 2) Word Predictor (as discussed on this list) 3) AxsJax for Wikipedia, Myspace, and possibly other sites (see http://code.google.com/p/google-axsjax/) 4) Dojo Toolkit project (http://dojotoolkit.org/) 5 & 6) Two binary input (switch) games We have had over thirty undergraduate and graduate students coding this weekend, along with over a dozen working professionals from industry mentoring the students over the weekend and chipping in help. The students seem to be having a great time and are working hard. Tomorrow, we have another 12 hour day, ending with a showcase where all of the student teams show off their, and are awarded for all of their hard work with donated prizes. We hope you share our excitement, and you are all here in spirit! All the best, Christopher Leung Founder, Chair - Project:Possibility |
