Looks like a pretty thorough proposal, and its nice to see a lot of discussion. I think the inclusion would make it easier to develop alternative pointers and I'm all for that. I didn't see any mention of setting the position of the mouse pointer, but presumably that is handled by at-spi. The current state of opengazer is, as you say, more suited to detecting more pronounced movements. My experiments with opengazer and Jambu over the weekend definitely reinforced this. Though I still think there is definitely room here for a gaze-activation, it needs to be even grosser than opengazer usually supports, as anything that is on-screen is far to easy to accidentally trigger. Great news about MouseTweaks though! One more thing: any idea what is meant by a "pointer capture area"?
