it is true that only opera currently supports search boxes, though  
there are script workarounds.
you can try http://www.openicon.org/db/search.php?search=c etc for  
batik or amaya.

given the lack of support for <use:external> at firefox and safari,  
this is a fairly minor issue, as you can only get the text labels or  
gloss.
