openicon is a new real-time web application for reading and writing  
with icons on IRC chat channels,
there is also an icon search engine that can be searched by icon or text

your comments are sought,

a module to allow people who only use icons, to write to irc is in  
development.
the vocabulary is currently limited, due to expand in a few weeks.
