Call to help improve accessibility of Firefox addons. Steve ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Aaron Leventhal <aaronleventhal at moonset.net> Date: 2008/6/23 Subject: Accessibility of Firefox extensions To: dev-accessibility at lists.mozilla.org Marco and I are collecting feedback from the community regarding the accessibility of Firefox extensions. If you use Firefox extensions and have noticed a11y issues, please let us know here. We can use the information for a couple of things: - to notify specific extension developers (although often anyone can do that on mozdev.org) - to write an article on the top a11y issues in extensions and what the easy fixes are - to notify any extension code reviewers (I think Mozilla has a process now, but I could be wrong) One common issue may be when extensions but "placeholders" in content that can only be clicked, which activate other content. Another common issue may be items that are put in toolbars or on the status bar but are not keyboard accessible. Likewise, if there is an extension that you feel gives Firefox accessibility an edge when it is installed, let us know that as well. - Aaron _______________________________________________ dev-accessibility mailing list dev-accessibility at lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/dev-accessibility -- Steve Lee -- Open Source Assistive Technology Software web: fullmeasure.co.uk blog: eduspaces.net/stevelee/weblog |
