I only use letter names of vowels (PG trained) and so could be accused of not delivering Lit Hour objectives ! By the way graphemes are how you write a letter! THRASS aims to prevent this confusion at a later date by giving the information together....particularly useful to children who are visual spatial type learners who need to see the "big picture". "Will someone explain to me (in simple terms) why in the world you need to teach letter names (graphemes I believe you call them) to children who are learning to read - the only time you need them is when someone who doesn't use a phonics approach to spelling is telling someone else how to spell a word - that's why I prefer PhonoGraphix to THRASS Janice secondary senco herts" Best wishes, Aly (olanys at aol.com) Executive Vice Chair APDUK _www.apduk.org_ (http://www.apduk.org/) |
