Dear All, I have a very good resource for this at school but I can’t remember the name of it among a host of products with very similar-sounding names. I’ll be at school next Tuesday so I’ll write it down. I use it with KS2 pupils but it is quite challenging for some of them and would work well with Year7/8 I think, even 9 perhaps. Meanwhile, I want to say that teachers need to understand the difference between not listening and not remembering. If the problem is the latter, the teacher needs to make adaptations to make remembering more possible. In either case, they need to realise the importance of understanding to both processes. It sounds so obvious I know but so often “he doesn’t listen to a word I say” refers to a child with a working memory problem who may be listening with all his might but still only remembering the last part, if anything, and so unable to get on with the work. At least if he understands what was said as it was said he stands a chance of getting something into semantic memory before it all evaporates! But the question was about resources to help, so I’ll get that name and publisher next week... Best wishes, Mary -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
