I am SENCo in large secondary including 6th form. 200 on register ,23 statements ,I am also 1 of 5 designated CP officers in school, have say in curriculum issues ,fortnightly meetings with head to discuss SEN issues. line manage 15 TA , 2 Behaviour support assistant who have parttime admin support, one school nurse and I have a full time admin office manager. I teach 4 small group sessions that are timetabled contact time. That is the only timetabled contact time that I have and that is with SEN students. the other 21 lessons in the week are at my disposal to see students as I need to ,to do reviews ,meet with parents ,to do assessments, assist and advise colleagues both in and out of the class and all the other stuff that SENCOs have to do.
