[senco-forum] Read Write Inc Ruth Miskin Synthetic Phonics

Hi, our Infant school has just taken on this scheme -Read Write Inc by Ruth
Miskin- and has had fantastic results.  I was wondering if anyone has used
it in junior school with extremely successful results also.  I have a few
questions which I would be very grateful if anyone could answer:

*	Does this produce better results than ALS, Springboard, fls etc. 
*	Do the children actually transfer the skills learned into their
schoolwork? 
*	Is the Freshstart program a real alternative to the literacy hour
for these children - will they be disadvantaged in any way? 
*	What levels in a Junior school have you used the freshstart with and
how long before you saw significant results? 
*	Would you buy this scheme in preference to others? 

I was on the training today.  It looks great, but does it really work?
