  Elizabeth - it's possible that the word 'blank' is being held in the 
OE option for a header to your emails.  I don't use OE myself, so I'm 
not 100% sure - but if you look in the Tools/Options/Compose tab, in the 
section marked 'Stationery' - you will probably see that the 'Mail' 
option is ticked.  Clicking Select just by this will show a range of 
headers - one of whch is called 'Blank' - this is probably the culprit. 
  Try unticking that 'Mail' option, especially if you are sending just 
plain text emails.

  Switch to the Thunderbird email client... :+)  with this, you can 
define who gets what format...
