Sorry- Rich text format.(HTML)   as opposed to plain text which the forum 
uses. (in Outlook express toolbar, look underneath Format.)

I'd quite like to be able to use bold occasionally in a message- makes 
explanations easier-  and for my paragraphing to stick, which plain text 
doesn't allow.  Didn't envisage the forum going into anything more exotic.
