[senco-forum] RE: Literacy

It looks like a solution to the illiteracy problem has been found which might interest forum members.  The Shannon Trust is providing a teaching-pack (including Toe by toe) to all prisoners who want to teach other prisoners to read and the strategy is apparently working very well.  It is of course enormously cost-effective and we can be absolutely certain that these new voluneer tutors will never be able to claim that they are too busy with their wider responsibilites to carry out their tutoring duties in literacy.

It would appear that anyone who is illiterate need only get themselves sent to prison if they want to learn to read?       Problems solved!
