dept next week - mum hopes they are more up to speed than last  year,
when she was told he has no hearing problems - have all audioogy  depts
been made aware of apd?

I can't be sure about that but the British Society of Audiologists APD  
Steering Group is making progress in that area. 
 
Their official APD pamphlet can be downloaded here fpr the  parents to
take 
along to the meeting. That is evidence of the recognition of APD  in the
UK 
that no audiologist can refute. It also refers people needing
information and 
support, which the parents will need too, to the APDUK website  and
newsletters.
