Hi to all those who asked lots of questions and provided lots of advice. One person, can't recall who, suggested I assess using PhAB. Well instead I used the CTOPP. It's age appropriate (she's 14) , similar test thought, but with more subtests. What a great piece of advice (among other useful pieces) - because I can now give more empirical evidence. Basically - all the phonological awareness and phonological memory tests were in the average range (around Standardized score of 100 or higher). These scores are only good now, because we have spent so much time on them all - they were weak. Whereas, all the "naming" tests were in the below average range i.e. below standardised score 85! So I'm feeling more and more confident that it is a word finding difficulty. Best wishes Sharon |
