[senco-forum] independent school

I am sure someone will have a quick answer to this question, please:

Y2 pupil at independent school, has statement for ADHD and other 
difficulties.
He had a local authority ed psych whilst in early years, who apparently 
continued to be involved longer than he "should" have been (up to end of 
Y1).  (We "inherited" this pupil when we took over another school, so I was 
not involved before this year).

We now need EP help/advice but I have now been told that, whilst this EP is 
technically the child's named EP, he is not able to be involved in any way 
unless we buy in his services (as state schools also have to do).

Is this right/legal?  Any thoughts gratefully received.
