I believe it is generally accepted that Spanish and Italian are lot easier to learn than German or French, but the problem is that the traditional grammar school teaching produced more German and especially French teachers, so it has become chicken and egg situation Cheers Judith -----Original Message----- From: senco-forum-bounces at lists.becta.org.uk [mailto:senco-forum-bounces at lists.becta.org.uk] On Behalf Of David Bowles Sent: 07 July 2006 00:21 To: senco-forum Subject: Re: [senco-forum] Writing to a head about rights to withdraw What MFL (modern foreign language) is this child already studying and what additional MFL will they be expected to study next year? The reason I ask is because I'm told some MFLs are a lot easier to learn than others, especially for dyslexic students. For example my cousin who is also at a grammar school had great difficulty studying French, which my brother tells me is one of the most difficult languages for a dyslexic student to master. Is this correct and does anyone have any more info on this? David Bowles > The SENCo (and parent) is particularly concerned about year 8 > because the number of MFLs studied increases to 2.
