[senco-forum] can't 'read' info in diagram form

Hope someone has experience of this. The very bright daughter of a friend of mine (5 As at A level, studying to be a doctor) has just failed an anatomy exam. She said she just cannot understand diagrams and they mean nothing to her. She said she spent most of the time in the exam turning the paper around to see if it would make more sense. She has a similar experience when she did physics at school. She has to pass a resit in August. 
Any advice will be passed on and gratefully received.
