Article: [senco-forum] good book

I was very fortunate to hear Dr Alex Richardson give a lecture on Omega fish
oils etc a few years ago. She was incredible. I couldn't make any nores as
she talked - I just had to hang on to every word - she really explained why
we need highly unsaturated fatty acids etc - I doubt anyone without a
scientific background could have understood but I was enthralled. If anyone
gets the chance to hear her - go for it - she seems to be lecutirng all over
the world most of the time. I will certainly read her book as it's bound to
be first class

>Summer reading for parents and teachers - They are what you feed them by Dr
>Alex Richardson. ISBN 0-00-718225-2. Am halfway through it and it is full
>of good stuff. Except page 42 where it is stated that dyslexia can only be
>formally diagnosed after many years spent struggling with learning to read
>and write.
>
>I disagree with that idea - for example, we identify and work with kids as
>early as year 1 so it is possible. It just may not be what happens for the
>most part. Martin Turner holds that assessment is possible from age 5
>upwards.

>It is a very readable book full of excellent info on food, learning and
>behaviour.
