Article: [senco-forum] Pupils at P scales in mainstream secondary

Hello everyone
Next year I am going to have 4 pupils in my school are are working within P scales in most subjects with occasional peaks at the bottom of level 1. Two will be in year 8 and will need to follow an alternative curriculum for some of the time at least. We teach most subjects in mixed ability groups in year 8 except maths (in the bottom group where they will cope) English (where they already follow an alternative programme of study) and French (which they are increasingly withdrawn from).
Anyone got some programmes of study for the secondary range of subjects for pupils who are achieving between P5 and level1? We've got the NC documents but they give one idea for each subject which won't last us through five years!
Is there a book I can buy? Are there published Programmes of Study? I've tried getting subject teachers to differentiate their work but there are limits to how you can adjust a Level 4 curriculum to level 1 and below when pupils have Learning Disabilities (ie an IQ below 70).
  Thanks in advance
