Hi June, Janice and everyone I'd echo what June says here. I left another Forum because it was just a shouting match where people yelled conflicting theories at each other without listening. This Forum has rarely descended to that level. And, on the rare occasions when it all gets too personal and aggressive, I've always found the backup from the administators very helpful. I have been a member of other forums in the past where off-board/private messages have become deeply offensive, almost frightening. One forum was for sufferers of polycystic ovaries, who often have great difficulty with weight. A thread on the subject of weight terminology, (no, really!), became almost frightening in the degree of foul language used in private replies. (For the record, I personally am not "weight challenged", I am FAT ;-) ). Has anyone else noticed how the nastiest writers always come across as being very "childish" (and that's probably an insult to children)? In my dealings with my son's school, I received a letter from the Chair of Governors. All it needed was "ner-ner-ner" at the end to convince me an 8-year-old had written it. As I have said before, I am so pleased to find a forum where I can get neutral advice about SEN. I spent a lot of time trying to keep our problems with our son's school private, in the mistaken belief that this was somehow more dignified. I have made more progress in the brief time since, effectively, going public on this forum that I did in 10 months going it alone.
