Article: [senco-forum] Colour Blind student - Support in Geography

I would suggest that you contact the LEA QTVI who will be able to provide you with suggestions; You will need to avoid the use of colour if atall possible by producing maps etc which employ pattern as a means of differentiating areas (e.g. use stippling, stripes etc). As far as I am aware the enlarged/modified papers are prepared without colour for this reason. If you contact me off list I will give you some references and an info sheet that I use in my work.

  Hi Tara
Have you checked the exam board access arrangements book? Sometimes, the very thing a pupil needs if forbidden because it is 'being tested' like timekeeping for one of my ASD pupils.
Apart from that - I have got colouring pencils which have the name of the colour written on them. They might help with illustrations. If you want to know more, let me know.

Hi
We have a student who is a high achiever. He is severely colour blind. Does anyone have any ideas how we can support him in Geography. There are particular concerns for examinations.
Thanks
Tara
