Aly, Do we now have suitably trained people with appropriate tests to refer possible APD children to then? Where are they registered? Thanks, Mary -----Original Message----- From: senco-forum-bounces at lists.becta.org.uk [mailto:senco-forum-bounces at lists.becta.org.uk] On Behalf Of Olanys at aol.com Sent: 26 June 2006 19:51 To: senco-forum at lists.becta.org.uk Subject: Re: [senco-forum] behaviour "On LASS there is a big discrepancy between visual learning (excellent) and audio(low average). We've done a whole range of tests all of which come out fine (Irlen, B/G Esteem, reading spelling LASS, BPVS, writing speed, some social story type work on behaving in class, positive reporting, classroom obs) " I would suggest she be referred for APD testing and that you look at the classroom accomodations suggested here, www.lacewingmultimedia.com/APD.htm also employing a more visual method of teaching to work with her talents. You could also refer her father to APDUK for support. I expect her behaviour is born out of frustration. If she has really high scores in the visual field she may be dual exceptionalities.
