50,000 booklets issued in just two  weeks 

Just two weeks after launching a new booklet for primary school
children (“
Don’t Bully Me”), anti-bullying charity Kidscape has sold out  of the
initial 
print run of 50,000 copies and is reprinting a further 50,000  booklets
to 
meet demand. 
In the original initiative, every  primary school in England, Scotland,
Wales 
and Northern Ireland received a free  copy of the booklet thanks to
generous 
funding from Argos. Teachers were hugely impressed with this  innovative
new 
booklet, with over 200  schools ordering additional copies. Comments
included: “
it  is child friendly and accessible” and “a very good booklet with
clear  
information and strategies for children to use”. One school even
requested a 
staggering 610 copies  in just one order. 
Kidscape’s Director, Michele Elliott,  said: ‘We are delighted that
“Don’t 
Bully Me!” has been so well received by  primary schools in the UK. The
huge 
demand for extra copies is evidence of the  need for clear, easy to
understand 
information on bullying for this country’s  youngest schoolchildren. It
also 
goes to show  what a major problem bullying is in our primary schools.
We are 
very  pleased that so many pupils around the country will be able to
benefit 
from  Kidscape’s expert knowledge in this way”.
