[senco-forum] behaviour

100 is the average in standard score terms and 50 is the average in
percentile terms.  This is clear in the diagram on the British Picture
Vocabulary form, where the two scales are illustrated along parallel lines
and against the Bell curve.  I use this diagram to explain the scores to
parents and they always understand it.
