From: "chris white" <chris19251 at blueyonder.co.uk> > > More importantly does it work? Interesting question. Getting kids up out of their seats and doing something physical is certainly very helpful. When I was at school I had a mad french teacher who if he felt he was 'losing' us he would say 'STAND. FOLLOW ME.' He would march down the stairs to the playground and he would run around it three times with us all running behind and then he would walk slowly back to class. All this took place in silence. It certainly always did the trick for my concentration and motivation levels! Okay. I'm not suggesting you do this. But get kids to stand up, jump up and down, rub their tummies and pat their head. If you've got space stand in a circle and do some games like 'Clap on Seven' or 'Pass the blank'. But please don't perpetuate the mumbo jmbo in Brain Gym ;o) -- Mark Norwood www.avssc.org "How can one not be fond of something that the Daily Mail despises?"
