I don't diasgree with you about the MFL, nor about the Humanities. I've  just 
taken over and am working within the existing framwork for the  moment. 
Unfortunately in our school many of the pupils have been studying  French for some 
years and others, often those with SpLD's, reallly  struggle. I take them out 
of French in Year 7, try to boost their literacy  skills and then let them do 
German the next year. Not ideal but better than  losing lunchtime.
