[senco-forum] Literacy Support

Like Richard we do not withdraw pupils for literacy from French in Year
7 and 8 because they are amazed to find they can do it like everyone
else!  In Year 7 especially there is so much oral work, singing, games
and repetition it is great.  By Year 9 we occasionally take one or two
out because by then it has become more academic.

We do not take out of Art, PE ,Drama or Music (unless the pupil hates
one of these!) because they are not put under the stress of reading and
writing much. We take from history, citizenship, geography and sometimes
science (they have loads of lessons!)
