I have used alphasmarts with students who have many different needs. One Aspergers student we had loved it as he could get everything in his head down in class and then edit it later when he printed the work off. Dyslexic students have also used them with moderate success although if they have slow processing skill and alphasmart was not the option in class we found. if you google alphasmart there are lots of sites. they cost about £170 - £200 . We were able to obtain a couple on loan from oiur local Children and Young peoples Inclusion service before we bought them. gaynor >From: "Paul and Philippa Bodien" <bodien at gmail.com> >To: "senco forum" <senco-forum at lists.becta.org.uk> >Subject: [senco-forum] Alphasmarts >Date: Tue, 7 Nov 2006 22:51:09 +0400 > >We are considering an Alphasmart for an Asperger's KS2 pupil who has the >ideas but cannot get them down.
