[senco-forum] observations

Hi Sue
  My Head has been telling us that we should expect two formal observations a year.  So I have one Performance Management one plus one Department observation.  He said that this is Union guidance.  We are also expected to have a 'Buddy' who we do mutual observations with but the outcomes of these are not reported, only the fact that they have taken place.  We are a small secondary.
  I do know of teachers in schools which have been placed in Special Measures who have to expect far more than that.

In my junior school everyone has been observed twice already this 
term (by the Head and Ofsted) and there are more observations due 
next week by our County school advisor. Everyone is feeling we have 
had quite enough and wondering what is the benefit to us (Ofsted has 
already confirmed the Head's observations).
