That's what I meant Sharon, just knowing them doesn't mean you can  
manipulate them.  




My point was that good phonemic awareness alone is possible but
manipulation 
is a skill not an awareness, and that awareness or knowledge of all  the 
sounds, in itself  doesn't help with phonological skills.
