Hi Linda I'd be very grateful if you could look them up. I have almost no experience in this area at all and my LA doesn't either. Amanda Linda Nevin-Drummond <linda at mirin-361.eclipse.co.uk> wrote: Dear Amanda We have this experience a lot -97% of our school students have English as an additional language. I myself used to work for an EAL service. You didn't say how long the student had been learning English. Although students can acquire basic conversational English in a year or so, it can take up to 7 years to fully acquire CALP- cognitive academic language proficiency. Do you have anyone who can help with a first language assessment? Do the family report any history of problems acquiring the first language? I have some proformas at school and also a document about the steps to finding out if a problem comes from acquiring English as an additional language or a learning difficulty. I could look this up on Monday if you want. Linda -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
