The very title Specific Learning Difficulties always gives the impression that there is a finite list of problems, but every SpLD student has their own combination or strengths and weaknesses within that as they do as a student generally. I prefer Specific Learning Differences - this shows that everything is achievable for the student when presented in a format they can make use of. My 16 you with SpLD (APD orientated) is a visual/kinaesthetic learner. Anyway she has applied her 132 IQ to the problem. She works hard on her aural/coursework and has been told by us not to worry about the written element. I want her in the class to learn to use the language orally. A 'c' grade would be great for her confidence but not a family requirement. The MFL teacher has asked me ( as an SpLD tutor) for some help with making the work more SpLD friendly. I am not sure where to start and am definitely hampered by only having a CSE grade 2. At least I know why now! I assume Eddie applies his huge IQ likewise and has no problem with oral French just as he has no problem with oral English. Sharon - |
