Sharon, as I wrote in my last message, there are literally hundreds of
articles about teaching MFL to those with SpLD. I've done my best to
publicise them via the bibliography on mywebsite at

http://www.specialeducationalneeds.com/mfl/biblio.doc

I often mention my reading list on Linguanet, the UK language teachers'
forum, and I also drew attention to it during a well-attended presentation I
gave at the annual conference of the Association for Language Learning (the
MFL teachers' national subject association) at Easter 2006. There's also a
useful government document about MFL and learning difficulties at

http://www.nc.uk.net/ld/dump/MFL_ld.pdf

which every UK MFL teacher - theoretically speaking! - should be familiar
with.

Tell the MFL teacher to get hold of the following book. It's £11 from
Amazon.com and it's chock full of practical advice:

Crombie, M. and Schneider, E. (2003) Dyslexia and Modern Foreign Languages:
Gaining Success in an Inclusive Context, London: David Fulton.

There is also plenty of information on the Web about dyslexia-friendly
methods of teaching MFL. The SpLD section of my bibliography lists the
relevant online pages.
