I wonder whether he is feeling anxious.  He is in a new situation with
unfamiliar staff and is having to move to a different teacher for
Numeracy. 
He has lost his security.  Use social stories to explain why he has to
change rooms and why it is good to finish work.  Could  a buddy take him
into the other room? I think he needs lots of reassurance.
