May be it is years of 'tonguing' a recorder but my /t/ is definitely teeth based whereas the /d/ is not regardless of whether it is a single sound or the whole word. Love the candle. I use it to teach French children 'h' just like in "My Fair Lady". Yes - I think dialect plays a part and why SpLD tutors have to have regard to this when teaching individuals rather working a programme cover to cover i.e. /a/ as 'ar' for staff/bath is not applicable countrywide.
