Hi Rik, The definition coined for Auditory Processing by Frank Katz (one of the most eminent worldwide Auditory Processing Disorder experts) is "making sense of what we hear"... so you at least agree on something! "I suspect that her motive is simply to get the word APD on the screen of often as possible. This is a harmful and not a helpful ploy which is damaging the undoubted cause of APD. I know that many other, former and current list contributors have expressed the same sentiment." Was this an on-forum comment about me because I seem to have missed that post...or was it a private one? Perhaps those who feel so inclined should then have the gumption to say so on the forum instead of privately emailing behind people's backs, but then to do so privately means that people don't know who they are....I assume they are the same people who have bought and used Eddie's CD-roms without question. My motive is simply to answer questions relating to APD, which people like Eddie are unable to even consider let alone answer and many of the questions asked on this forum DO relate to APD; to educate those that know little about it, to make sure that some children do not have to suffer any longer from the bigotry and ignorance of those who may teach them and refuse to believe they have a problem...the tone of my emails mirrors the tone of the posts I read. Support APDUK or not, that is your choice, it will make no difference to the facts....someone cannot make such inflammatory comments such as to deny APD exists as Eddie has done and state they don't care what problems a child has so long as his program works and seriously expect them to be ignored on an SEN forum. That is extremely flippant and irresponsible. The comment " I do not take dyslexia into account when developing any remedial literacy tool " says it all!
